COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DIESTOCK
(FOR RECTANGULAR, TWO-PIECE DIES)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification GGG-T-581
This commercial item description covers diestocks for use with rectangular, two-piece dies covered by Commercial Item Description A-A-367.
Salient characteristics:
Design. Diestocks shall be compatible with Reed Manufacturing Company two-piece, adjustable, rectangular pipe dies, series 2AP and 3AP and have 1-1/2 and 2-1/2 inch wide die slots, respectively. Ratcheting diestocks shall have one handle, and non-ratcheting diestocks, two handles. The capacity ranges, overall lengths, width of slot, and style shall be as shown below for the specified National Stock Number (NSN).

Diestocks marking. Shall be marked in a permanent and
legible manner with the manufacturer’s name or identifying trademark.
Workmanship. All defects shall be free
from imperfections which may affect their appearance, serviceability, or
durability.
Certification. The contractor
shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of
this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the
producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance
practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial
marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such
conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided
for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered
materials. The manufacturer
shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Preservation,
packaging, packing and marking. The diestocks shall be preserved and packaged
in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance
by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during
multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in
compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight
Classification. Marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
